GENRE & CONVENTIONS

Teen films are based on a film genre that is targeted at teenagers and young adults. It covers the interests of teenagers and young adults, and has a certain plot to it. A lot of teen films are about love, conflict etc. which are things that a lot of teenagers go through at their age, teen films allows them to see all the different situations in life. Some teen films can be aimed at females or males and others are aimed at both genders both.  A lot of teen films also cover the idea of stereotypes and how teenagers are seen and the actors are also teenagers which allows the viewers to understand the situations more, considering they will be around the same age.
