Angus thongs and perfect snogging is a coming of age movie that involves a 15 year old school girl that carries out normal teenage activities such as going to school meeting up with friends and also stalking boys,stalking boys is what they believe they do best.Georgia,Jaz,Rosie and Ellen are all friends who attend high school and often have sleepovers.these girls particularly jazz and Georgia are amazed by cosmopolitan boys tom and and Robbie this leads them to do everything they can in order to grab their attention.this is Georgia and Jazz main intention.along this journey there are many obstacles that are hilarious which makes you want to continue watching.However its not all fun and games for these girls as wet Lindsey ends up being in a relationship with Robbie Georgas crush and blatantly bullies and pulls stunts on Georgia.also the bummer twins two girls that think they own the school begin to aggravate the girls.this film is very humorous.its also known as a chickflick.The makeup,parties,sleepovers and boy stalking particularly interests teenage girls and not boys.which is why its target audience is at teenage girls.
this film is a typical teen movie as the locations where the scenes are mutual to most comedy teen movies for example the arriving shot at the beginning of the movie is walking into a school gate,scenes are also located in the bedroom (whole house),school canteen,the park and a guys house.location is very important as it gives you an idea about how the characters are and what they enjoy for example if you see a character at the football pitch you can understand that they have an athletic character.
mise en scene such as costume that is presented in this movie fits in very well with the environment that they are living in and portrays their personality.for example the main character Georgia tends to dress casual whilst shes hanging out with friends often not too revealing of the skin as she's living in the coastal town of Eastbourne. This also shows that she isn't a snobby or attention seeking character for example slaggy Lindsey who is Georga's rival is always dressed of what some people would call inappropriate for example at school she wears a low cut shirt revealing nearly three quarters of her breast and this is just to school at parties is even more revealing where as Georgia and her clique dress appropriately this is a binary opposition as it shows the two types of characters who are completely the opposite.
also there are a few stereotypes in this movie such as the handsome cool boys ,nerds and the good looking girls that occur in most teen movies. slaggy Linsdey(below)
