I based the three hours on sound for the teen film T.E.A.M. Therefore the first an hour and a half I used it to brainstorm the different song choices and which sounds need to be used in order to portray our teen film successfully.
As a group we had a lot of ideas as to song choices however most of theses song choices were not copyright free, therefore we have had to cut down our list swiftly which left me down to a few soundtracks which suited our piece.
The sound track which we used was called John Newman- Will you love me again covered the whole two minute piece.
I ended up choosing this sound track due to the fact that it is pop song and is also heavily popular. John Newman's single also features on the most popular console game in the world FIFA 14.
I also choose this song because it is very catchy and has a simple melody. This allows the audience to engulf a simple rhythm thought the opening scene. It may also allow the audience to keep up with the story line.
I managed to get the song from the website which is free of copyright Sound cloud. This provided me with a mix where I then had to just cut the bits of the mix where I thought were relevant.
This is the song by John Newman imported and dragged onto the time line |
I also brainstormed on sound effects and Foley sounds in my Teen film in order to add more humor to the opening 2 minutes of the film. I managed to find more that five sound effects and Foley sound which I incorporated for each of the characters.
Jock: Rev of the engine
Nerd: Good morning alarm (kids theme) , 'Wa wa wa waaa' sound effect, Kicking sound effect
Princess: Morning alarm
Criminal: Police sirens
These are the sound effects and foley sounds imported into the project. |
Lastly for the first half of my free period I focused on dialogue. We used dialogue in the end of our scene however because we failed to attach a microphone on the camera, the sound wasn't clear enough. Therefore we had to do a voice over and match it with the shot.
This was the voice over sound imported into our timeline. To make this successful I needed to slow down the dialogue so that the characters act simotaneously to what she is saying |
In the second part of the lesson I used my brainstormed ideas and just filled the timeline with all necessary sound I managed to brainstorm.
