Q.7:Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learn't in the progression of it to the full product?
22. PRELIM - Emmanuel Tedeku, Tahmina Rahman, Lauren Coakley & Shah Kamaly from 283goswell on Vimeo.
Here above is our prelim that we had made at the very beginning of as media. This was a task where we were given a scenario to reenact making sure that we included different camera shots to show that what we have learn't so far.As you can see our camera skills were quite limited.we had to take the classroom shot many times as we had to much open space of the room that didnt need to be in the filming.we wernt stable presenting the 360 degree rule but we did try as you can see.Another probelem that we faced was filming steadily the focus often went off which meant that we had to re do the filming several times. I also noticed that my voice wasn' as clear as it should of been which makes it hard for the audience to hear what i was actually saying.
As you can see our mise en scene wasn't at its best for example the costumes did not reflect the characters role at all for example for the doctor we could have added glasses and a white waist coat in order to allow the audience to be familiar with the characters.Body language was also very poor as not enough enthusiasm was presented.Lighting and colour could have also been better for example the room looks quite dull which is quite boring considering it doesn't give off an element of effect for example, nothing bad is going to happen.
Looking back demonstrates that we have come along way in terms of both organising and features such as mise en scene. A story board is important for making a film so you can get a brief idea of what you want to happen before you begin to film the actual product. However,we didn't even have a story board for our prelim this shows that we weren't as oragnised and prepared as we should have been, more importantly we have come along way from our prelim to our actual final teen film opening.
**emanuel place our opening here.
From looking at our final teen movie opening in comparison to our prelim a great deal of change is easy to recognise. Here we took alot of time planning and researching what each characters should be wearing in order to present a clear personality for all characters e.g the jock, criminal, princess and the nerd.It is important to get the costume and make up right as it prevents our audience from any confusion. The lighting presented throughout our teen film opening has significantly improved in my opinion as we have played around with the editing tools we had which was necessary for different scenes for example we used a bright lighting effect for the nerds scene to convey his character as positive with excitement running through him.We have also used a variety of different camera shots such as high angle and low angles. For our teen film movie we made sure this time that we created our own story board in order for us to get an idea of what we wanted to happen in our teen film opening. We decided that we didn't want to film exactly what we planned so we changed it up by making new one but without our original story board our final story line in the opening wouldn't be as stables so it did help us a lot.
